COVID-19 Update

by | Mar 13, 2020 | News Releases

The Uptown Waterloo BIA is closely monitoring the developments surrounding COVID-19 (Coronavirus) to ensure we’re doing our best to keep the health and safety of our members, organizers and attendees at the forefront of any initiative.

We will continue to post all news and updates on our website here.

Regarding BIA meetings:

We will notify the appropriate parties of any internal or external meeting cancellations, location changes or postponements.

Regarding BIA events and funding:

We will continue to assess information collected by the Region of Waterloo Public Health, Destination Ontario and Destination Canada and update the status of upcoming events.

If you have received Spotlight Waterloo funding and are considering cancelling your event, please send us communication in writing as soon as possible so that we can work together to come up with an action plan. This may include re-scheduling your event – in which case you may still be entitled to the approved funding.

If re-scheduling your event is not an option, and you have received 50% of your approved Spotlight funding, we will require the 50% funding deposit returned to us and will require submission of a new Spotlight application if you are planning to run your event at a later date.

Regarding marketing and communication:

We will continue to work with our members to share pertinent information that could affect our community. We will also post regular updates as we have them to our social media platforms and to our website here.

Keep up-to-date on COVID-19 in Waterloo Region
