November 24, 2023 – WATERLOO, ON – Looking for something to do next weekend? Uptown Waterloo’s Winter Wonderland, happening Friday, December 1st until Sunday, December 3rd, has a little wonder for everyone!

Kick off the holiday season at the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at Waterloo Public Square with fresh beats by DJ Ares, Mayor Dorothy McCabe and Uptown Councillor Julie Wright, Angie and Sarge from BOUNCE as emcees, and Santa who will be roaming the event and gathering letters to Santa.

Friday night also includes the Winter Wonderland Pop-Up Art Market found inside The Shops at Waterloo Town Square from 6:00PM – 10:00PM. Over 50 local vendors Friday night (and Saturday) will offer amazing ideas for locally made goods for holiday gifting.

Many of Uptown’s businesses are hosting special promotions as part of Winter Wonderland to encourage you to shop local but also help you stretch your dollars further during the holiday season. Special promotions, giveaways and events are being offered by our participating businesses from December 1-3.

The Winter Wonderland Pop-Up Art Market continues Saturday from 10:00AM – 4:00PM. You’ll find holiday-themed characters handing out candy canes and Santa making a return visit to stroll around the Waterloo Public Square for children to share their holiday wish lists, plus lots of live music, including the Waterloo Carollers.

We are excited to kick off the annual festivities with the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony as Uptown comes alive for the holiday season.  The events and festivities are open to everyone, and our team is excited to celebrate the holidays with our BIA members and Uptown Community,“ says Uptown Waterloo BIA Executive Director Jeyas Balaskanthan.
