As part of a countrywide, virtual vigil tonight, Uptown Waterloo’s unique LED streetlights will be once again be illuminated to show love and support for Nova Scotia.

With the COVID-19 pandemic preventing people from mourning together in person, the online vigil will connect Waterluvians and other Canadians in coming together virtually to pay tribute to the 22 people who lost their lives in Nova Scotia in one of the country’s worst mass killings.

Uptown’s LED lights will be lit in the colours of Nova Scotia’s provincial flag – white, blue, red and yellow.

A locally organized vigil, called ‘Nova Scotia Remembers’ will be broadcast live on CTV Atlantic, CTV2 Atlantic, CTVNews.ca and CTV News Channel on Friday, April 24, starting at 6 p.m. EDT/7 p.m. ADT. The vigil will also be streamed on Facebook and YouTube, with the links to be posted at heartcolchester.ca.
