Faces & Places of Uptown Waterloo Photography Contest Open for Submissions
April 11, 2022 – WATERLOO, ON – The Uptown Waterloo Business Improvement Area (BIA) is celebrating its 50th anniversary and, as part of the year-long festivities, is hosting a Faces & Places of Uptown Waterloo photography contest.
Professional and amateur photographers of all ages are invited to submit their favourite Uptown Waterloo photos.
It’s easy to participate!
Take/submit a photo of your favorite landmark, landscape, product, food item or person in Uptown Waterloo or your family and friends visiting Uptown Waterloo BIA businesses (with their permission, of course!). Submit your high-resolution photo by NOW EXTENDED UNTIL SEPTEMBER 1, 2022 as an attachment to an email to uptownwaterloobia@waterloo.ca. Photos will then be adjudicated by a panel of community judges. The winners will be notified via email as well as announced on all BIA social media platforms and media communications.
The Faces & Places of Uptown Waterloo Photo Contest will award 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for both Judge’s choice,
and People’s choice:
• 1st prize: $150 Uptown Dollars and an Uptown Gift Basket
• 2nd prize: $100 Uptown Dollars
• 3rd prize: $50 Uptown Dollars

Formed in 1972, the Uptown Waterloo Business Improvement Area (BIA) is a committee of the City of Waterloo’s Council responsible for the organization, physical improvement and economic development of the Uptown business area. As an independent, non-profit organization, we are led by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of business and property owners, persons voted in by rate-paying member(s) and member(s) of Waterloo Council.
