Kitchener, Ontario singer-songwriter Sydney Jones returns to The Jazz Room with her all-star band Ben Rollo (drums/vocals), Mark McIntyre (bass), Caleb Bourgeois (guitar/vocals), and special guests (TBA).
Sydney has found her voice marked by raw, heartfelt lyrics, and unapologetic honesty. She weaves together indie and pop genres with a core of alternative country and folk roots; inspired by artists Brandi Carlile, Feist, Julia Jacklin, Madison Cunningham, and Phoebe Bridgers. Sydney captures her unmistakable style in her latest singles “Not My People” and “Why’s She Hiding?” off her upcoming EP recorded by JUNO award-winning producer Rob Szabo.
In 2024/2025, Sydney opened for Canadian artists Ariel Posen, and Glenn Milchem (Blue Rodeo), and shared lineups with Bahamas, Tim Baker, Danny Michel, Christine Bougie, and Steve Strongman, including headlining Galt Ontario’s FEST2FALL music festival. Prior to 2024, Sydney led indie-folk band Jones + The Jackpines, whose 2021 EP “Spectrum” features 5 of her original songs.
