Come Back Up COVID-19 Recovery Fund for Uptown Waterloo Businesses

Come Back Up Funding for 2021 is now closed.

In response to the impact COVID-19 has had on businesses and with ongoing uncertainty regarding the future climate of business in general, the BIA created a COVID-19 funding program (similar to our Hand in Hand program).

How the Come Back Up Fund Works:

Uptown businesses can apply for funding to cover items and initiatives such as:

  • NEW! Businesses can use funding to purchase Uptown dollars, gift cards, or gifts for employees to thank them for their diligent work throughout the pandemic.
  • Costs associated with increased cleaning and sanitation procedures e.g. hand washing stations, hand sanitizer, PPE, cleaning supplies etc. related to Government and Public Health recommendations
  • Costs associated with creating and managing online sales e.g. e-commerce platform – related to changes made because of the pandemic
  • Marketing and advertising costs to promote/share changes made to their business because of the pandemic
  • Capital expenditures related to air quality improvements or social distancing requirements
  • Training for staff related to changes made to their business because of the pandemic
  • Other expenditures related to changes made because of the pandemic as approved by the BIA

Of note: payroll, rent, utilities and other similar operational costs do not qualify for this program. Liquor purchases are excluded from BIA funding programs.  If you received funding in 2020, the 2021 funding cannot be applied to the same expense.

2021 Come Back Up Funding Application closes Monday, December 20, 2021 at 5PM
