Event Details

For more than 40 years, Seeds of Diversity Canada has been engaging Canadians in hands-on education and conservation programs to build more sustainable food systems. Its youth program, Youth in Food Systems, empowers hundreds of youth in Waterloo Region and across Ontario to become confident future food leaders by taking part in school-based food production and distribution, leadership and skills development training, and community service work in agri-food.

Activities Include:

  • Herb planting – plant an herb of your choice into a pot (& decorate the pot if you’d like!)
  • Seed ball making – roll and take native wildflower seed balls to plant in your yard/space
  • Colouring pages – fun for kids! With pencil crayons/crayons – colour on site or grab and go
  • Seed matching game – can you guess which seed becomes which vegetable?
  • Pack and Take pea seeds station – pack up and label peas to take back to your garden for fall planting

This event is a celebration of community, inclusion, and the belief that everyone deserves a place to belong.
