It’s Book Lovers’ Favourite Time of Year – CFUW KW’s Annual Used Book Sale
If you love books, you don’t want to miss the CFUW KW 59th Annual Used Book Sale. You’ll find everything from timeless classics to graphic novels and from local history to gardening inspiration. The sale takes place on Friday April 17 from 9am – 9pm and on Saturday April 18 from 9am to 1pm at First United Church, at the corner of King and William Streets in Waterloo. Prices range from $2 to $4 and $20 for an entire box of books on Saturday. Proceeds fund scholarships for local students.

The last Friday of every month in 2026 I will be presenting a concert of noise and experimental music at Emmanuel United Church in Waterloo, ON. All shows will be $15/PWYC.
Expect to hear: harsh noise, industrial percussion, free improvisation, free jazz, ecstatic joy, overwhelming dread, glitching laptops, chaos punk, buzzing motors, folksongs, pop songs, sustained drones, blissful ambience, large waves of feedback, immaculate beauty, harsh noise and more

Improviser, director, and UWaterloo instructor Ben Gorodetsky is offering a 2 hour improv workshop & jam.
Improv builds confidence, teaches storytelling, improves listening and collaboration, and allows you to be present in the moment. Taking an improv class is like supercharging your creative brain!
The 90 minute workshop portion will be followed by a 30 minute improv jam facilitated by Ben, exploring short form and long form improv games for a fun and immersive approach to collaborative comedy.
All skill levels welcome!
