The Big Band Theory had its genesis in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, without any clear idea where this project might end up. And… WOW! what an explosion of sound when seventeen of Kitchener-Waterloo’s (and beyond) most talented jazzers showed up for that first rehearsal in October 2011. BBT has now finished 11 seasons of music making with a deep repertoire of period music from the swing era (Benny Goodman and Count Basie), contemporary big band arrangements (LAs Big Phat Band), 70s horn bands (Earth, Wind and Fire, Tower of Power). With two albums under their belt (“Evidence”, featuring Don Thompson and “A Swinging Joy”, Christmas) the KW Big Band Theory is an exciting band to hear live. Come check it out, and be prepared to be blown away.

Max and Elliot are friends, best friends in fact, but certainly nothing more… After graduation she moves away for university leaving Elliot to pursue his schooling locally.
Keeping in touch through phone calls, voice notes, and visits home on holidays seems to be enough to maintain the friendship at first. Then Max meets Lee, and suddenly the voice notes and occasional visits home aren’t what they used to be.
Elliot is left with two choices, tell Max how he feels or slowly lose his best friend forever.
At times hilarious, others heart-wrenching, this coming-of-age dramedy explores friendships, first loves, and growing up.
Event Dates and Times: May 2, 3, 9, 10, 16 and May 17 at 8pm. May 4, 11, and May 18 at 2pm
Please note, Saturday, May 10th’s show will be followed by a talkback session with the playwright and director, Faith Andrew, as well as the cast.
